Well, my first year in the sport has come and gone with the passing of the U.S. Open Sprint Triathlon (October 5, 2008). It was my second tri and I’m hooked. The manner in which the race was run, the officials, and spectators were terrific. Sunday’s race was a lot of fun. There were 1000+ competitors signed up to compete in the Olympic and Sprint distances; 31 of which were in my age-group of the sprint distance. I placed 2nd!!! The bike course was very hilly which made for an interesting ride however it was riddled with pot holes and large cracks. My run was the only thing I felt I could have gone faster in. For the next 4-5 months I’m going to soley focus on improving my run. All in all it was a great day for me.

Congrats on the 2nd place finish. I finished 3rd in my age group yesterday and was pretty excited (different race though). It sounds like you had a good season. Here in Hawaii the seasons kind of run together when 2008 stops 2009 starts. Training never ends.
